ANTI-NARCOTIC CELL

The college’s anti- narcotics cell was established during August 2023 to ensure a drug-free campus by banning the consumptionof drugs and alcohol by college students. The anti-drugs cell’s responsibilities include organising awareness programmes with the assistance of authorized agencies. The anti-drugs cell’s responsibilities include educating students about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, encouraging peer policing among students against drug use, and reporting any observed drug use by students to the students’ affairs committee.An effective vigilant committee has been formed to carry out the functions of the cell as well as to conduct a drug awareness campaign on campus.

Objectives

  • To ensure and maintain a drug free campus.
  • To educate and empower youth to reject illicit drugs.
  • To provide counselling to students who show signs of drug or alcohol abuse.

Activities

  • Anti-drug awareness day
  • Induction programme for first year students on the dangers of drug abuse
  • Organising campus-wide awareness campaigns with the assistance of government-approved agencies and organisations.
  • Take part in the outreach programme: e-pledge against drugs in collaboration with the Narcotic Control Bureau for a fully pledged campus movement.
  • Arrange for Narcotic substance inspections on campus by trained police squads.
